Adviser or solicitor?
What an IAA-regulated adviser can do for you
People often search for an “immigration lawyer”. We are immigration advisers regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA), not solicitors. For most visa and settlement applications, a regulated adviser can do the work; some cases need a solicitor or a higher-level adviser.
We can help with
- Visa, extension and switching applications under the Immigration Rules
- Settlement (ILR) and British citizenship applications
- Sponsor licence applications, compliance and audits
- Administrative reviews of the kinds of application we handle, except refusals based on credibility or the genuineness of documents or relationships
We refer you on for
- Appeals to the tribunal
- Judicial review
- Administrative reviews of refusals based on credibility or genuineness
- Any case outside our Level 1 authorisation: we tell you straight away and refer you to a solicitor or higher-level adviser
You can check any adviser on the IAA’s public register. Our organisation number is F202638454.

Birmingham questions, answered
Can I come to the office without an appointment?
Please book first. Visits are by appointment so an adviser is free to see you. You can book online, call 07947 692485 or send us a WhatsApp message.
Do I have to come in, or can we talk by phone or video?
Either. Consultations can be in person at Bull Street, by phone or by video call (Zoom or Microsoft Teams), so you don’t need to live in Birmingham to use us.
Are you immigration lawyers?
No. We are immigration advisers regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority at Level 1. That covers most visa, settlement, citizenship and sponsor licence applications. Appeals and judicial review need a solicitor or a higher-level adviser, and we refer you if your case needs one.
Do you work with employers in Birmingham and the West Midlands?
Yes. We help employers apply for a sponsor licence, assign Certificates of Sponsorship, keep records and prepare for Home Office compliance visits.
Can I meet you in London or Manchester?
Yes, by appointment only, at Spaces Liverpool Street (35 New Broad Street, London EC2M 1NH) and Spaces Deansgate (125 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2BY). Birmingham is our main office.
